	07 December 1999	Syndicate 1221 Underwriter to retire at end of 2000 Stephen Thomas will retire as Active Underwriter of Millennium Syndicate 1221 with effect from 31st December, 2000. No indication has been received as to who will be his successor. John Cooper will take over as Managing Director from Colin Mander who will remain on the Board.
	18 March 1999	Mander, Thomas & Cooper form new Consortium During 1999 Mander, Thomas & Cooper plan to bring a book of Engineering/Construction, Project Cargo and Onshore Energy (ECCOE) business developed by Navigators Insurance Group Inc. into Syndicate 1221. The business will be written on a consortium basis with certain other Underwriters at Lloyd's. This represents new business to Lloyd's and will provide approximately Ł2m of premium income to 1221 for 1991. Syndicate 1221 will also benefit from management, overriding and profit commissions.
