	11 October 1999	Owen & Wilby exit Following the acquisition of Owen & Wilby Underwriting Agency Ltd. by Gerling Konzern Allgemeine Versicherungs AG of Cologne, Germany, the Agency has changed its name to Gerling at Lloyd's Ltd.
	12 January 1999	Syndicate 1206 Business Plan Modifications Various modifications to the 1999 Business Plan have taken place, including: The increasing of the maximum gross line for sports account business in certain circumstances from US $2 m. any one person to US $3 m. Cover has been purchased such that it is unlikely that there will be any additional net exposure to the syndicate. OWL Insurance Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Owen & Wilby's parent company, is to manage two new consortia for whom syndicate 1206 will be writing sports risks and medical expenses in 1999. Tom Brown and Ralph Sharp have stepped down from the Board of the Owen & Wilby agency with effect from 31.12.98. Christopher Messer has consequently joined the Board with effect from 1.1.1999.
